Balfour Baptist’s Nursery is a loving and safe environment developed to allow infants and toddlers learn the love of Jesus through the love of their caregivers. All children are engaged in developmentally appropriate play and older children are provided with simple lessons to prepare them to enter the preschool department upon their 3rd birthday. Upon registering your child you will be given an identifying number serving the dual purpose of contacting you during service if your child is in need of you and for the safety of your child in pick up procedure.

Children’s Port Sunday School
Teachers: Kenny & Charlene Watts
Children’s Port is Balfour Baptist Church’s Preschool Sunday School. Children’s Port provides a caring environment for preschooler’s to learn and grow in their knowledge of the Bible and laying a foundation for children to make a personal decision to trust Jesus as they mature. Children’s Port uses games, crafts, and developmentally appropriate curriculum to teach preschoolers. Snack is provided.
Children’s Church at the Port

Formally called Extended Session, Children’s Church is an extension of Children’s Port and runs during the Worship service. Children’s Church is an alternative for preschoolers to sitting in the adult worship service. Children’s Church provides a caring environment for preschooler’s to learn and grow in their knowledge of the Bible in a dynamic manner that engages them on their level. Snack is provided.

Kidz Tank Sunday School
Teachers: Karen Sword, and Emily Darnell
Kidz Tank Sunday School uses Lifeway’s Gospel Project curriculum which is a high-engery comprehensive Bible teaching curriculum that strives to teach children about Christ–prayerfully leading to a saving faith in Him, and how to demonstrate this saving faith by practicing Godly character traits.
6th – 12th Grades
Youth Sunday School
Taught by: Sidney & Martha Pruitt
Our Youth Sunday School is working through the Bible in a blended lecture/directed discussion format. The goal of these studies is to bolster the teens knowledge of the Bible and to encourage them to grow in their understanding of Christian faith prayerfully, embracing it and making it their own.

This co-ed class is a discussion based class, closely guided by the facilitator. This class uses varying curriculum based on the needs of its participants.

This co-ed class uses various books based on particular topics. The participants read through the lesson individual during the week and have a discussion based class.
Good Shepherd
Men Age 55 and up
Taught by: Ronnie Shehan
This is a men’s class is lecture based with time for discussion. This class uses Lifeway’s Lifewords curriculum, focuses in on practical application of God’s Word. This Sunday School curriculum features the King James Version of the Bible and its chief focus is the development of godly values, growth in biblical knowledge, and understanding of a life of Christlike excellence.

Sisters in Christ
Women 30 and up
Taught by: Laura Ward and Joyce Hall
This ladies class uses the Life Values curriculum from Lifeway which is designed specifically to equip boomers and empty nesters to put into practice biblical values at a time when fresh goals are being set for the exciting next stage of life.. Solely discussion based, this group encourages individual opinions and lively discussion is always present.
Meets on the 1st floor in the Adult Sunday School Wing.
The Joy Class
Co-ed Senior Adults 65 and up
Taught by: Doug May and Ruby Pruitt
The Joy class is lecture based with discussion encouraged. Joy uses Lifeway,’s Life-Ventures curriculum which is designed for Seniors. Life-Ventures features Bible study that is relevant for retired adults. Life-Ventures seeks to equip, encourage, and minister to those in their retirement years, motivating them to share their valuable experiences with younger generations.
Meets on the 2nd (main) floor between the Nursery and Church Office in the Conference Room.
