Welcome! May I ask you a few questions? When was the last time you went to church? How would you describe your experience? Was it a great experience that left you feeling joyful and filled with God’s love? Where the people smiling, friendly and accepting? Did you feel the love of Jesus Christ or did you feel bored, out of place or like a third thumb?
Here at Balfour we have a saying that we are “refreshingly different.” But what do we mean by that? We believe it means that we strive to make everyone feel loved and accepted no matter what you wear, what color skin you have or how much money you make. When you come here you will hear solid Biblical preaching that is designed to excite, motivate and instruct you as you live in today’s hectic, stressed out world.
We have intentionally chosen to have what we call a blended music style. That means you will hear some of the beloved old hymns and some of the newer praise songs. But all music will be uplifting and upbeat. We call our style of worship “celebration” because we celebrate God’s Love, His Salvation and His Grace all in a spirit of worship.
If you come earlier you will find a time of Bible study that is designed for all ages. From birth to seniors you will find a place for you and your family. We have just started a group called “Young Life” which is directed toward those who are college age or just starting out in the work force. There is also a new Bible fellowship group for young couples that addresses the needs for young families.
But don’t take my word for it. Come and check us out this Sunday! I think you will find us “Refreshingly Different.”
